10th Jul First BR-X Tests
BR-X has been successfully run for the first time. An initial test was carried out around the University car park outside Brunel Racing's workshop, with the car performing several short runs around the block to ensure all systems were functioning correctly.
After a short period of familiarisation with the controls for drivers Rob Still and Andrew Bonjour (including a few stalls and a lot of wheelspinning), we were pleased to see BR-X's powertrain running smoothly and the car moving under its own power for the first time.
The test was unfortunately brought to a premature halt with a brake pedal failure, however thanks to partners Hamlyn Engineering we look forward to having a replacement part in the morning.
BR-X is now being tested on the rolling road to further evaluate powertrain performance and set up gear shifter controls. For more photos of BR-X's testing progress, please visit the Gallery section. We also have several videos available on our YouTube page. http://www.brunelracing.co.uk/gallery/folder.php?folder=18
