New Exhaust from GoodFabs Performance Exhausts

Brunel Racing would like to thank Goodfabs Performance Exhausts for their continued support of the team and indeed of Formula Student.

The exhaust manifold has been designed in-house by the team using a combination of 1-D analysis software and dynomometer testing. The exhaust manifold is designed to perform in conjunction with the intake manifold and the custom-ground cams, and the entire powertrain is expected to produce 70kW (94bhp) peak power with a broad torque curve.

To reduce weight and overall vehicle size, the exhaust system has been allocated a lot less space than in previous years and packaging is extremely tight in this area. Due to the tight dimensional tolerances for the exhaust system, Brunel Racing was keen to work GoodFabs again having been very impressed with the work that they did on last seasons car.

The exhaust system is now fitted to the car and with GoodFabs able to work directly from a supplied CAD model the manifold is an excellent fit within the chassis.

Brunel Racing at IMechE Presedential Address 2010

Due to the teams success last season with its 2009 car, BR-X, Brunel Racing has been invited to display BR-X at the IMechE Presidential Address 2010.

The whole team, and particularly those involved with the design last season, are honoured to have been asked to display their work at this prestigious event.

The Presidential Address will be held at the IMechE headquarters on Bircage Walk, London, on Wednesday 26th of May.

New Zagonda Zeylock Bodywork Clips

Brunel Racing is delighted to have recieved new ultra-lightweight bodyclips courtesy of Zagonda F1 for its new 2010 car, BR-XI. The MagLock bodyclips weigh only 2g each (!) and are a great help to the team as we endevour to reduce weight on the car wherever possible.
